About Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration
The China Africa Joint Arbitration Centre (CAJAC) was set up to provide a platform for the resolution of disputes arising from trade, investment and economic cooperation initiatives between Chinese and African parties. The first CAJAC International Conference held in Cape Town South Africa was a meeting of all CAJAC partners BIAC, SHIAC, SCIA, AFSA and NCIA with the theme “from vision to action”. Other key stakeholders who participated in the conference included representatives from various African governments, the legal fraternity, universities and the business community. The conference addressed key issues with the objective of working towards a shared jurisprudence between China and Africa and converting the CAJAC Vision into action. Through CAJAC, parties have a dedicated dispute resolution institution that provides parties with an opportunity to access information, qualified and efficient ADR practitioners and facilities for the resolution of their disputes at their own convenience. CAJAC Nairobi, therefore is expected to grow the Sino- African Legal synergy by providing dispute resolution services closer to Sino-African Entities doing business in Africa.
